Carlton Howard Lapp, 59, of Vermilion , died Thursday, July 5, 2007, in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
He was born July 23, 1947, in Batavia, N.Y. and had lived in Vermilion since 1959. He was a local Vermilion pharmacist for 36 years. He was co-owner and operator of Vintage Pharmacy in Vermilion since 2006. He had been co-owner of the Medicine Shoppe, Vermilion, for 20 years, and since 1970 had worked at Marshall Drug, Cunningham Drug, Gray Drug and Kroger as a pharmacist. He was a 1965 graduate of Vermilion High School and a 1970 graduate of Ohio Northern University. He was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity, the Lorain County Pharmacists Association, the Ohio Pharmacists Association, the National Community Pharmacists Association, the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, The Audi Club of North America and The Chapel in Sandusky. He enjoyed sailing, bicycling, and driving and instructing at Audi Club driving schools and safety seminars.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carol Jean (Beiner) Lapp of Vermilion; son, Jeffrey David (Amy) Lapp of Toledo; daughter, Jennifer Renee (Jeffrey) Lee of Avon; brothers, Gregory Lapp of Avon, Mark Lapp of Shelbyville, Ky., and Douglas Lapp and Michael Lapp, both of Wakeman; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Howard and Mildred (Snyder) Lapp.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Monday at The Chapel, 444 Galloway Road, Sandusky. Pastors Brad L. Mason and Dave Brown will co-officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
