Ervin E. Crane, 57, of Sandusky, passed away May 29, 2007, in Doctor's Hospital of Sarasota, Fla., after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Mount Pleasant, Mich., and was a 1969 graduate of Monroeville High School. He retired from New Departure-Hyatt (Division of General Motors) where he worked for 30 years. He dearly loved his grandchildren, camping and racing. He was a member of Faith Memorial Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Cheryl L. (Hickam) Crane; daughter, Victoria Crane of Sandusky; stepson, Aaron (Kelly) Hickam of Pittsburgh; step-daughter, Melissa Hickam of Fremont; seven grandchildren, Peyton, Erin, Matthew, Danielle, Amaiya, Shaunice and Kylie; two brothers, Kenneth (Diana) Crane of Jemmison, Ala., Lawrence (Jane) Allen of Monroeville; seven sisters, Pat (Rich) Leber of Monroeville, Sandra Jesse of Charlotte, Mich., Lorrena (Gary) Sebrell of Lansing, Mich., Linda Anderson of Killbuck, Ohio, Nannette Villareal of Bellevue, Nancy (Allen) Smith of Monroeville and Marilyn (Ken) Missler of Fremont; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna "Connie" (Newman) Crane (1992); daughter, Melissa A. Kaman (1997); grandson, Nicholas Kaman (1990); father, Donald Crane; step-father, Laurence Allen; mother, Evelyn (Barnhart) Allen; sister, Debra Sue Allswede; brother, Robert Martin.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until the memorial service at 1 p.m. at Faith Memorial Assembly of God Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Kenneth Hiser will officiate. Interment will be later in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
