Ronald P. McPherran, 51, of Sandusky, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in his residence of complications from Lou Gehrig's Disease.
He was born June 22, 1956, in Akron, Ohio, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He worked for Carpenter's Union Local 940 for 18 years.
He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky, and enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, motorcycles and building engines.
Ron is survived by his wife and caregiver, Susan Marie (Roser) McPherran, whom he married Jan. 4, 1985; son, Ryan McPherran of Sandusky; step sons, Michael (Diana) Ross Jr. of Sandusky and Matthew (Charity) Ross of Berlin Heights; four stepgrandchildren; sister, Joyce (Vincent) Lanovara of Bedford, Ohio; brothers, John (HwaRi) McPherran of Henderson, Nev., and Gary McPherran of Tombstone, Ariz.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Mary (Lehnert) McPherran; and a brother, Charles McPherran.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. Friday until services at 11 a.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Father Chris Kardzis will officiate. American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, will conduct military honors after the service.
