Betty M. Skinn, 82, of Norwalk, died early Tuesday morning, July 3, 2007, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in North Fairfield, Ohio, to Arthur and Iva (Rice) Fay, now deceased, and was a lifelong Norwalk-area resident. She was a 1942 graduate of Monroeville High School and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a volunteer worker. She was also a member of the Bronson Center Farm Women's Club, the Farm Bureau Council and Bridge Club. She was an avid gardener and farm wife.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wilbert D. Skinn of Norwalk, and his daughters and son-in-law, Beatrice and Richard Barker of Newburyport, Mass., Rebecca Skinn of Norwalk and Marcia Summerfield of New London; sons, Wilbert David Skinn and Darryl Eugene Skinn, both of Chicago; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Harry Fay of Canton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Beatrice Bonnigson, Ruth Header and Doris Schild.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where prayer services will be at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk, with the Rev. Anthony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
