Artmon "Art" E. Perry, 70, of Lakeside, passed away, Monday, July 2, 2007, at the home of his daughter in Attica, Ohio.
Art was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Honey Bee, Ky., the son of Napolean Bonaparte "Boney" and Sarah Jane (Rose) Perry. On Oct. 5, 1957, in Jellico, Tenn., he married E. Lois Perry and she preceded him in death Feb. 27, 2000. Art worked as a laborer for the Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky, where he was known as the "watch man" for 37 years, retiring in August of 2000. He also worked several years into the late 70s as a mechanic at Dale's Sunoco in Port Clinton. Art actively attended church and participated in many church functions of the Baptist faith. He was an all- around outdoorsman and an avid sports fan, especially the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. Art was a member of the National Rifle Association, an avid gun trader and a member of UAW Local 1216. If anybody needed help he was the first one there, no questions asked. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra (Mike) Leser of Port Clinton and Susan (Brian) Feyedelem of Attica; five grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Kylin, Mason and Shawn; sister, Bessie Aline Patrick of Parkers Lake, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews who were very special to him.
Art was preceded in death by his wife; son, Gary Perry; daughter, Sharon Kay Perry; parents; brothers, Raymond, Waymond, Virgil and Hobart Perry; and sisters, Oma Perry and Ida Belle Spradlin.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday until funeral services at 7 p.m. in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Pastor Clarence Mullins will officiate. Interment will be in Marlar Cemetery, Parkers Lake, Ky.
