Henry "Stonewall" M. Jackson Jr., 86, of East U.S. 6, Fremont, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in his home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Henry Martin and Blanch May (Bolton) Jackson Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Joyce Hoffman on Sept. 11, 1940, in Greenup, Ky., and she died in 1998. Henry worked in the maintenance department of Whirlpool Corporation for more than 35 years, until retirement in 1986. Henry loved hunting, fishing, bird watching and playing cards with his family.
He is survived by children, June (James) Taylor of Ace, Texas, Gary (Antra) Jackson of Fremont, Raymond and Monte Jackson, both of Vickery, Randy Jackson of Port Clinton and Mark Jackson of Sandusky; brother, Lawrence Jackson of Sandusky; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Jackson; daughter, Georgeann McKillips; sisters, Edith Foust, Jean Craford, Ollie Criswell and Ruth Williams; and brothers, Oscar, Richard and Raymond Jackson.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday in Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, where services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Rod Shaull officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont
