Ruth M. Smith, 68, of Monroeville, died Tuesday afternoon, June 26, 2007, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 10, 1939, in Norwalk, and was a 1957 graduate of Monroeville High School. She worked for GTE Telephone Company and retired from Vansons Restaurant after more than 20 years. She was an active member of the former Zion Episcopal Church, Monroeville and her hobbies included cooking, reading and most important, her family.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard "Dick" Smith; her children, Wendy (Don) Crites of Cynthiana, Ky., Shannon (John) Perry of Monroeville, Chris (Vicki) Smith of Monroeville, and Julie Tuttamore of Britton, Mich.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Rosswurm of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elsie (Bemis) Rosswurm.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today in Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, where services will be 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Amy C. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
