Dr. Howard Ted Craun, 84, of Jensen Beach, Fla., died June 20, 2007, at Emerald Health Center in Florida.
Born in Ramona, Okla., he moved to Jensen Beach 33 years ago from Sandusky. He was chairman of the Department of Radiology at Sandusky Memorial Hospital. He served in Rhineland and the Central Europe Campaign of WWII as a captain and unit commander in the 59th Field Artillery Tank Battalion. He was an Eagle Scout and 32nd Degree Mason. Dr. Craun was a member of the Sandusky Sailing Club, Plum Brook Country Club and Stuart, Fla., area tennis clubs.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ellen Craun of Jensen Beach; two sons, Todd Craun of Philadelphia, and Ned Craun of Seekonk, Mass.; four granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Stuart. A gathering of friends and family at the Island Club, Hutchinson Island, Fla., will follow services. Yates Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
