James H. Harris, 60, of Sandusky, died Friday, June 22, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 29, 1947, in Sandusky and was a 1965 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard Sandusky Engineering Unit 612 from 1966-72. Jim worked for many years as a service repairman for A.W. Roberts Specialty Shop until starting his own appliance repair business.
Jim was a life-member of the AMVETS Post 17, a member of American Legion Post 83, and Sandusky Orioles. He was an avid boater and fisherman and loved spending his free time on the lake in his Lyman boat. He also took many trips to Canada with his life-long friends.
Jim is survived by his mother, Elaine K. (Moran) Smith of Sandusky; niece, Dawn M. (Hand) Sullivan of Sandusky; nephews, Todd R. Hand of Vickery, Jason H. (Kelly) Hand of Buckeye Lake, Ohio, and Chad W. (Debbie) Hand of North Olmsted, Ohio; several great-nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard F Harris, who died in 1980; and sister, Connie S. (Harris) Hand, who died in 1982.
Private family services will be conducted.
