Elsie "Tootsie" B. Mathis, 82, of Clyde, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at her home.
Mrs. Mathis was born May 17, 1925, in Kentucky James and Argest (True) Cox, now deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of the Clyde Eagles.
She is survived by her seven loving children, Juanita Leers of Clyde, James "Joe" Mathis of Clyde, Sue (Clayton) Lindsey of Huron, Fred (Patricia) Mathis of Fremont, Ben (Brenda) Mathis of Clyde, Judy (Donald J.) Daugherty of Fremont and Deborah (Bob) Milleson of Clyde; 26 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen Butcher, and brother, Elmer Cox, both of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Mathis, whom she married Aug. 10, 1940, and who died May 10, 1981; three grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, John Cox and James Cox, Jr.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services at noon at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. Burial will be in Block Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
