Arkadi A. Moor, 83, of Norwalk, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, in Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk.
He was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Estonia and moved to the United States in 1951, and lived in the Norwalk area since. He was a member of Cleveland Estonian Lutheran Church and attended St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk. He worked at the former Youngstown Miller Company in Norwalk, retiring in 1980. He worked at PolyOne and was also a security guard for National City Bank. He enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren, singing and music, putt-putt golf, watching the Cleveland Browns and wrestling.
He is survived by his children, Annie "Ene" Moor of Norwalk, Chris (Larry) Wyant of Wakeman and Martin (Linda) Moor of Avon Lake; six grandchildren, Katie Moor, Kyle Moor, Tracy Moor, Jeremy Wyant, Matthew Wyant and Kelsey Wyant; and numerous nieces and nephews in Estonia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Salme K. Moor in 1996, and his parents.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until service at 11 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Fred Wiechers, pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery followed by a luncheon at St. Peter Lutheran Church.
