Carole J. (Deppensmith) Heschel, 84, formerly of Oak Harbor and Fremont, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in PeachTree Assisted Living in Roy, Utah.
Carole was born July 18, 1922, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Ferdinand F. and Louise Ries Deppensmith. She married Jerald H. Heschel on March 21, 1946. Prior to moving to Utah, Carole resided at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. Carol grew up in Oak Harbor, graduated class of 1940 from Oak Harbor High School and in 1944 completed the Cadet Corps Nursing Program during World War II at Providence Hospital in Sandusky. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Michael S. Heschel (Judith) of Austin, Tesas, Louise K. Charles (Richard) of Folsom, Calif., and Jerald (Morgan) Heschel of West Haven, Utah; a daughter-in-law, Carol Heschel of Whitesboro, N.Y.; a brother, Roger Deppensmith of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Dorothy Thurston of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Marguerite Poorman of Naples, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Daniel M. Heschel; sister, Mary Alice Sutter and brother, Lloyd Deppensmith.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until services at noon in Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 900 North St., Fremont. The Rev. Gerald Ceranowski will officiate. Burial will follow at CalvaryCemetery in Fremont.
