Robert J. Mann Jr., 73, of Castalia, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in Bellevue Hospital.
Mr. Mann was born May 15, 1934, in Fremont, to Robert J. Sr. and Blanche (Whittaker), now deceased. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde Firemen's Association, Master of Boy Scout Troop 327, the Clyde Eagles and a former member of Clyde Fire Dept. Mr. Mann had formerly served as a Clyde City Council member. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1954 and attended Tri State in Angola, Ind. He was an electrician and an electronics man for Whirlpool Corp. in Clyde for 32 years, retiring March 1, 1997. He was also an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Judith E. (Dewey) Mann, whom he married Oct. 24, 1994; a daughter, Marsha (Terry) Rutherford of Fremont; two sons, Michael Mann of Fremont and James Mann of Clyde; eight grandchildren, Michaela, Justin, Lynzie, James, Timothy, Brooke, Robert and Jenny; three stepdaughters, Mary (Leo) Chapman of Madisonville, Ky., Sherrie (Scott) Clark of Bellevue and Debbie (Billy) Knights of Madisonville; five stepsons, Michael of Madisonville, Troy Cotton of Sandusky, Eugene Cotton Jr. of Elkhart, Ind., Richie Cotton of Madisonville and Greg Cotton of Columbus; one great-grandchild; 15 step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m Sunday in Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. A funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Catholic Church in Clyde with the Rev. Keith Stripe officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery with military rites provided by Clyde American Legion and VFW.
