Hilda Marie (Wahl) Vorhees, 96, formerly of 1500 E. Bogart Road, Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, June 16, 2007, in Bortz Nursing Center, Lake Orion, Mich., after a brief illness.
She was born March 24, 1911, in Sandusky County and lived in Vickery. Hilda was employed by the R.G. Reynolds Tobacco Company, the Jackson Company, Barr Rubber Inc. and Trojan Power (now known as NASA) and later she made costumes for the Kay Lutes Dance Studio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Frank Nathan Vorhees on Feb. 14, 2002; parents, John and Nancy (Lyon) Wahl; sister, Louise; and brother, Lloyd.
The couple is survived by one son, James A. (Marlene) Vorhees of Lake Orion; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 11 a.m. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
