Frank "Moodis" Sanford Jr., 71, of Sandusky, died Sunday, June 17, 2007, in his home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 5, 1935, in Eaton, Ga., to Pete and Bertha "Bert" Sanford. He moved to Cincinnati at an early age and was a graduate of Woodward High School. In the early 70s he moved to Sandusky to be with his cousin and best friend, "Mutt." Moodis was a very special and unique man. He loved to ride his bike, drive his car, do lawn care, build model airplanes and write. He was loved by many.
He has brothers, Lewis and Robert Sanford; sister, Gladys Sanford; and is survived by cousins, with whom he resided most of his life, Lois C. "Mutt" Brown, Thomas Abrams, William L. Brown, Debra Brown and Tracey Dennis, all of Sandusky, Adrian Brown of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Brenda Dennis of Aurora, Colo.; cousins whom he helped raise, Seconi Mathews, Daria Mathews, William "Man" Brown, Maranda Parker and DaTracion Brown, all of Milwaukee, LaToya Kelly, Onaj Kelly, Shant Dennis and Ya Shica Brown, all of Sandusky; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; cousin and caregiver, Elaine Kelly in February 2007; cousins, Lisetto Doll Dennis and Larry Adams Dennis; and a host of other relatives.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Friday until services at 1 p.m. in Providence Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Samuel Mickles will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
