Ted L. Metz, 60, of Clyde, died Monday, June 18, 2007, in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital, Toledo.
He was born July 31, 1946, in Bellevue, to Robert and Rose (Vitello) Metz, now deceased. He attended Thompson School. Ted was a member of the Clyde Moose and had served two terms as governor, and was a member of the Fellowship in Legion of the Moose. He was a social member of the VFW. Prior to his retirement he had worked at Carbo Forge Tool and Die in Kingsway.
Survivors include his wife, Donetta (Wittibslager) Metz, whom he married Jan. 24, 1987; son, Christopher Metz of Clyde; two daughters, Heidi (Steve) Meggitt of Green Springs and Heath (Rich) Orman of Lindsay; stepson, Charles (Melanie) Zerman Jr. of Clyde; stepdaughter, Shelly (Ronald) Rine of Clyde; grandchildren, Morgan, Tor, Brendan, Kesey, Kayla and Chelsea; special daughter and grandson, Tiffany Leiter and Keaton; and a brother, Frank (Bobbitt) Metz of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Heishman; and a brother, Joseph Metz.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where Moose services will be 7:30 p.m. and funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Henry Favorite will officiate. Burial will be in Green Springs Cemetery.
