DAYTONA BEACH, FLA.
Marilyn J. (Neiding) Young, 83, of Daytona Beach, Fla., passed into God's heavenly kingdom the morning of June 10, 2007, in the care of her sons, Mark and Joel, in Daytona Beach, after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 1, 1924, in Sandusky, to Carl and Elizabeth (Fedderson) Neiding. The wife of the late William C. Young, who passed on July 1, 1975, Marilyn and Bill made their home in several locations over the 28 years they were together: Sandusky; Joliet, Ill.; Sydney River, Nova Scotia, and Daytona Beach. Marilyn received her nursing degree from Providence Hospital in Sandusky. In addition to being a loving housewife and mother, she served as a teacher's aide for special-needs children at Hillcrest and Palm Terrace Schools in Daytona for 17 years.
Teaching was one of the joys of Marilyn's life, and her love for her students kept her an active, vital member of the community. She also loved reading, sewing, cooking, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, sons, Mark Young of South Daytona and Joel Young of Gainesville, Fla.; daughter, Cindy Bramscher of Naperville, Ill.; grandsons, Billy Young and Andy Bramscher; granddaughter, Erin Bramscher; great-grandson, Jacob; sister, Mary Jane Hoch; sister-in-law, Marian Mock; daughter-in-law, Donna (Feagle) Young; son-in-law, Tom Bramscher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today in the Port Orange Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes, where services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Roy Hoch officiating. Interment will follow the service at Daytona Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in honor of Marilyn to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler or to Salvation Army.
Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate 83 years of God's goodness to our dear loved one.
