Lidia A. Phillips, 94, of Port Clinton, passed away, Sunday, June 10, 2007, in Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton.
Lidia was born July 20, 1912, in Woonsocket, R.I., the daughter of Mario and Rosa (Refosco) Arduini. On Dec. 2, 1939, in Sandusky, she married Armenio "Meni" Phillips who preceded her in death March 28, 1968. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Lidia along with her husband Meni, and Philip and Mary Phillips, owned and operated Phil's Inn Restaurant from its beginning in 1948 until the time they sold it in 1971. She loved working at the restaurant and caring for her family. Lidia will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Surviving are her daughters, Gerri (Ken) Gill, Margaret Phillips and Pauline (Wayne) Hunsinger, all of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Gail (Tom) Miller, Gary Wahlers and Mark (Jill) Hunsinger; stepgrandchildren, Jeff Gill, Dave Gill, Tim Hunsinger and Dawn Harris; three great-grandchildren, Lauren Miller, Craig Miller and Keegan Hunsinger; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. Lidia was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until prayers at 10:30 a.m. in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Missler at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
The family requests memorial contributions in Lidia's memory be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Ottawa County.
