Walter E. Taylor Jr., 85, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007, after a brief illness .
Mr. Taylor was born in 1921 in Mineola, N.Y., the son of Walter E. Sr. and Olga (Pedersen) Taylor. He was a ceramic engineer for 20 years at Universal Clay Products Co., Sandusky. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, and loved his family. For many years he was an active member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Sandusky, and Sandusky Kiwanis Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Muriel (Smith); sons, Walter E. Taylor III of Norfolk, Va., and Robert David of Columbus; daughters, Nancy T. (Thomas M.) Spencer of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Lynne T. (Lawrence) Chrapliwy of Port Washington, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria. A Memorial Service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Wesleyan Village, 807 West Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Beth McKee will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory and Funeral Services.
