Brenda F. Harris 53, of Sandusky, went home to be with her lord, May 28, 2007, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 8, 1952 in Columbus, Miss. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Voices. Brenda was a very loving and caring woman.Everyone loved to be around her and she made you laugh. Despite many illnesses, she never let it get her down, and she was determined to fight whatever came her way.
She leaves to celebrate her life, daughters Latishia Harris and Aeisha Harris and son, Marquis Harris, all of Sandusky; grandchildren, Dominque, Traveion, Denarius, Dorian, Michael, Jonsaya, Timarius and Cody, all of Sandusky; step children, Anthony Roberts, Wilson Roberts Jr., Tinnai Marshall and Kansas Marshall, all of Bellevue; sister, Lisa (Lynn) Lewis of Sandusky and sisters in Michigan; brothers, Ezekiel Ford and Andre Harris, both of Sandusky; sisters-in-law, Mittie Ford of Columbus, Miss., and Angela Woodley of Fostoria; uncle and aunt, Major and Minnie Ruffin; great-aunt, Ruthie Lee Ruffin; special friend, Henry Jones; several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Ford Sr. and Sadie B. Jones; sister, Cooke Ford; brothers, Foster "Bugg" and Kenneth Ford; great-grandson; uncles, Simon Cohen Sr., Frison Ruffin Sr., Charles B. Jones Sr. and Woodrow Taylor; and a niece in infancy.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Shelby St., Sandusky. The Rev. Eddie Henry will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
