Mrs. Leona Rhodes passed away May 20, 2007, at her home in Sandusky.
She was born in Washington D.C. and resided in Battle Creek, Mich., for 20 years where she was employed as a nurse. She and Marvin, her husband of 63 years, retired to Ellenton, Fla., where they resided for more than 20 years. In the fall of 2006 they moved to Sandusky to be near their family.
Leona is survived by her husband, Marvin Rhodes, and will also be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Frederick Van Dongen; and grandchildren, Jason Rhodes, Ryan Rhodes, Luke Rhodes, Jacob Rhodes, Meghan Van Dongen, Kelley and Keith Frye and Fred Van Dongen; and two great-grandchildren.
Leona was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Rhodes.
Leona's smile and joy will be greatly missed by her family. A memorial service will be June 20 at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
