Rose C. (Gioffre) Caporini, 83, of Huron, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 26, 2007, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Huron and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Huron High School in 1942 and attended Sandusky Business School for two years. Rose worked with her late husband Dino at the family business, Huron Cement, since 1947. Rose was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron. She was past president of the Altar and Rosary Society and worked with the Toledo Diocese and the summer festival committee. She enjoyed bingo, the local ladies card club, and was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Indians. She also was a Huron sports enthusiast.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Bill) Aamoth of Solon, Ohio; two sons, Dino (Sharon) Caporini and John (Jody) Caporini, both of Huron; seven grandchildren, Tony, Jamie and Marcie Caporini, and Lauren Jones, Jill Semple and Erica and Kelsey Aamoth; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary David of Huron, and Theresa Alten of Elyria; and a brother, Pat Gioffre of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dino Caporini in 2004; parents, Joseph and Carmella (Pisano) Gioffre; and a brother, Ralph Gioffre.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church Gathering Space, 430 Main St., Huron. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Jeffery Sikorski officiating. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park Cemetery, Huron.
