Jack M. Eakin Jr., 94, 6216 Maple Ave., Castalia, passed away Saturday morning, May 26, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born Oct. 29, 1912, in Ada, Ohio. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sandusky. Jack enjoyed bird watching and watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Inez Eakin; two daughters Judith (Arnold) McDurfee of Tucson, Ariz. and Janis (Doug) Wiedle of Clyde; son, Jerry Eakin of Castalia; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Sr. and Florence (Haynes) Eakin; two sisters; and three brothers.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St. Castalia, where services will be10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Bruce Morrison will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
