Dorothy A. Schuler, 79, of Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, May 23, 2007, in Parkvue Healthcare Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 6, 1927, in Sandusky, and was a 1945 graduate of Sandusky High School. For more than 35 years she, along with her husband, James, owned and operated Schuler's Jewelry. She retired in 1985. Prior to that, she worked at Tieche's Jewelry Store. She enjoyed traveling, playing solitaire andcollecting sea shells; and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, IAB Club, Moose Club, Sandusky Elks Lodge and Sandusky Orioles Club.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James K. Schuler, whom she married May 30, 1953; two daughters, Beth A. Schuler of Nashville, Tenn., and Jill R. Schuler of Ft. Collins, Colo.; granddaughter, Katherine Rose Schuler of Ft. Collins; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Joseph and Norma Hilda (Huber) Schell.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
