Ruth Elizabeth (Green) Zechman, 88, of Bellevue, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, in Arbors at Clyde.
She was born Aug. 24, 1918, in Clyde. She was a 1936 graduate of the former York High School. She and her husband were lifelong farmers and she enjoyed living on the farm on County Road 270 where Senator George Norris of Nebraska was born in 1861, and spending winters in Florida. She liked to travel and do crafts. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue, and a lifelong member of the Clyde Heritage League.
She is survived by a sister, Doris Geiger of Bellevue; sister-in-law, Anna Greene of Bellevue; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Zechman, whom she married Jan. 1, 1940, at the Evangelical Church, Bellevue, and who died Aug. 18, 1994; her parents, Edward and Pearl (Emerick) Green; and a brother, Robert, in 1989.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Foos & Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue, with Pastor Wally Seibel officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
