Catharine Tibboles, 94, of Bellevue, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, in Bellevue Care Center.
Catharine was born Sept. 20, 1912, to Byron W. Burdue and Della (Johns) Burdue, now deceased. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1931 and was a secretary for the former congregational church and an operator at the former Northern Ohio Telephone Co. in Bellevue. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and Four County Young at Heart Senior Center in Bellevue. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and doing crafts.
She is survived by her niece, Leah (William) Cook of Oberlin; great-nephew, Charles (Lois) Sage of Bellevue; and numerous other nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Tibboles, whom she married Oct. 30, 1937 and who died March 23, 1989; her parents; a brother, Forest Burdue; and two sisters, Juanita Kern and Edith Burdue.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m Monday in Harris Foos Funeral Home, 289 W. Main St., Bellevue, where services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Dr. Robert R. Bottoms, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery in York Twp., Bellevue.
