Park E. "Shasty" Sprague, 83, of Huron, died Friday, May 18, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after an extended illness.
He was born July 24, 1923, in Cleveland and had been a lifelong resident of Huron. He worked for the city of Huron Waste Treatment Plant for 27 years, retiring in 1985. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a 50-year member of Mark's Masonic Lodge 359 in Huron, American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky and the Huron Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Aldrich); a daughter, Mary Louise (Bob) Green of Scott Depot, W.Va.; a son, James Sprague of Sandusky; stepson, Robert Lipp of Chicago; three grandchildren, Ed and Jennifer Sprague and Andrew Green.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Park and Louise (Randall) Sprague; and stepdaughter, Diane Lipp.
At the deceased's request, there will be no visitation or services and burial of ashes will take place at Scott Cemetery, Huron.
