Jean (Cronk) Swartz, 86, of Norwalk died Thursday morning, May 17, 2007, in Twilight Gardens Home, Norwalk.
She was born July 6, 1920, in Findlay, Ohio, to Clarence Mahlon Cronk and Hazel Fern (Rathburn) Cronk, now deceased. In her early years, she was best known for service in the Girl Scouts of America where she served as a leader of Troop 62 for more than six years. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church and its choir for many years. Later in life she was known to many as the owner of Norwalk Travel Service for more than 30 years. In that capacity she was fortunate to have traveled to 96 countries around the world.
She is survived by her daughters, LaWana (Swartz) Moroski of Atlanta and Stasia (Swartz) Billiard of Norwalk; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. Swartz in 1969; sister, Mary Elizabeth (Wib) Ryerson; and a brother, James M. Cronk.
There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milan Cemetery. Arrangements are by Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk.
