James "Jay" Schriner, 89, formerly of Valleyview Drive, Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, in Bellevue Care Center.
He was born July 18, 1917, in Marywood, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Ausberger) Schriner, now deceased. Jay was a farmer his entire life and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, Four County Young at Heart and Eagles Aerie 490. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Stockmaster of Bellevue; his grandson, Daniel Stockmaster of Bellevue; and his sister, Hilda Daniel of Willard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn L. (Vickery) Schriner, whom he married Oct. 8, 1949, at Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue; his parents; brothers, Lawrence and Andrew Schriner; sisters, Dorothy Daniel and Margaret Daniel; and son-in-law, Marvin "Butch" Stockmaster.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, with the rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. at Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church 609 Vine St., Clyde. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
