James M. Duff, 100, of Home, Pa., and formerly of Duke Center, Pa., died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.
He was born in 1906 to Harry and Margaret (Finley) Duff in Penn Hills, Pa.
Mr. Duff was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in business and also received a fellowship degree from the Wharton School of Business. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Indiana; a 32nd Degree Mason; and a member of the Coudersport Consistory and also the Syria Temple Shrine, Pittsburgh. James enjoyed teaching Sunday school and singing in the church choir. He could brighten a room with a song and a smile.
He taught business for 35 years at the Otto-Eldred School in Duke Center before his retirement in 1971.
He is survived by three sons, William J. (Kay) Duff of Mesa, Ariz., Richard L. (Sandy) Duff of Wexford, Pa., and Frank A. Duff of Atlanta; four grandsons, Brian (Carla) Duff of Gilbert, Ariz., David (Robyn) Duff of Atlanta, Joshua Duff of Minneapolis, and Matthew (Brittany) Duff of Minneapolis; and two great-granddaughters, Haley and Regan Duff of Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna A. Duff in 1996; his parents; two brothers, Russell and Chalmer Duff; and one sister, Ethel Boyd.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, Pa., with the Rev. George E. Porter Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery,
