Mufaro H. "Teddy" Young, 17, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly late Wednesday evening, May 9, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
He was born Dec. 17, 1989, in Detroit and was a sophomore at Sandusky High School. Teddy enjoyed attending programs at the Center for Cultural Awareness, playing games, helping his mother and cooking. It was his dream of pursuing his love of cooking at a culinary arts school after graduating. He liked attending the Assembly of Jesus Christ Church where he was in the first annual cotillion of the church.
He is survived by his parents, William Redell Young Jr. and Paula Ann McBride; sisters, Adriana McBride of Detroit, Maleka Bassir, Ayofemi Young, Asia Young, Aphrodisiac "Alfie" Young and Ameniha Young all of Sandusky, Carla Adcott of Louisville, Ky.; brothers, Ayodele Young, Malaic Young, Smear Young and Mufasa Young all of Sandusky, LeAndrea Moore of Nebraska; maternal grandmother, Virginia Willis of Cleveland; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Myeshia Young; maternal grandfather, Sheil Willis; paternal grandparents, William R. Young Sr. and Christine (Koonce) Young; and cousin, Micayah Campbell.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of Jesus Christ Church, 3510 Beatty Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Elder Johnnie W. Cross will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
