John A. Pearson, 69, of Fremont and formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at his residence.
John was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Los Angles. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Fremont. He was a model train collector and a former crew chief for auto racing, a passion of his. He graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1956; attended Case Institute of Technology from 1956-58 and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1961. He was a physicist and electrical engineer and worked at The Ohio State University in research.
Mr. Pearson is survived by his mother, Kathryn (Baker) Pearson, Fremont; a daughter, Elizabeth Pearson, Westerville, Ohio; a son, Shawn A. (Bethany) Pearson of Delaware; three grandchildren, Alayna, Jonah and Joshua Pearson of Delaware; and a brother, Gary (Ricki) Pearson of North Dakota. His former wife, Arlin (Saam) Pearson, survives in Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Pearson, in 2002.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Fremont, with the Rev. Randy Haas officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
