Frank "Pap" Lessick, 85, of Sandusky and formerly of St. Clair, Pa., passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 25, 1921, in St. Clair to Peter and Fannie (Koretko) Lessick and graduated from St. Clair High School. Frank served in the Navy and Coast Guard. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1982. Pap enjoyed spending time with his family, doing crossword puzzles and birdwatching.
He is survived by his son, Peter (Carol) Lessick of Mount Gilead, Ohio; daughter, Donna (Howard "Slick") Gilbert of Sandusky; grandchildren, Raquel, Nichole, Wyatt, Kyle and Cory; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Blanche (McClellan) Lessick, in 1986; his parents; brothers, Wasil, John, Mike and Joseph; and sister, Anna.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. American Legion Post 83 will provide military honors.
