Dr. Thomas A. Brosky, 65, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday afternoon, May 4, 2007, at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1941, In Lorain, Ohio. A graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, he attended Kent State University and went on to graduate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1964. He practiced one year in Elyria with his father before opening a private practice in Sandusky which flourished for more than 42 years. He also served as the assistant professor of surgery at OCPM from 1965-70. Dr. Brosky was the first podiatric surgeon to attain staff privileges at Sandusky Memorial Hospital. From 2000-05, Dr. Brosky also served as the staff podiatrist for Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Hanne K. (Hansen) Brosky; daughter, Susanne K. Johns of North Canton, Ohio; sons, Dr. Thomas A. (Christine) Brosky II of Gainesville, Ga., Robert J. (Georgianna) Brosky of Oberlin and Scott M. (Mari) Brosky of Elyria ; grandson, Zachary Brosky; and sister, Julita M. (Robert J.) Kohl of Shaker Heights, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Angela (Kapucinski) Brosky and his father, Dr. Bert Bernard Brosky.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Wednesday until a memorial service at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky. Pastor Gary R. Ulrich will officiate.
