Gertrude L. Narcizo, 79, of Sandusky, died Saturday afternoon, May 5, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a brief illness.
She was born March 1, 1928, in Middletown, R.I. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky. Gertrude was a licensed line dancing instructor, beginning in 1974 and continuing until just a few weeks ago. She also enjoyed square dancing and polka dancing.
Survivors include her husband, Manuel, whom she married Oct. 8, 1949, her sons, Paul (Marti) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Steven, at home; grandsons, Brian (Donna) Smith of Republic, Ohio, and Nicholas Smith of Akron; great-grandchildren, Megan Smith and Corey Bookman; her sister, Evelyn Fernades of Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, James and Mary (Motts) Gomes, as well as nine siblings, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
