Gertrude O. Kohlman, 88, of Oak Harbor, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Riverview Healthcare Campus.

She was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Oak Harbor, to John and Nina (Leow) Klug. On Nov. 21, 1941, in Oak Harbor, she married Woodrow W. Kohlman and he preceded her in death March 19, 2002. Gertrude worked for Erie Proving Grounds and a county agricultural office (AAA) in Oak Harbor before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor where she was a member of the Esther Circle.

Gertrude lived her whole life on the homestead that was passed down through her family for generations. At the house she sold dozens of eggs and froze and canned fruits and vegetables from the garden. She loved to play pinochle and cards with her family and card club. Gertrude was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Farmers Union.

Gertrude is survived by daughter, Doris M. (Ronald) Puestow of Hutchinson, Kan.; son, John W. Kohlman of Oak Harbor; daughter, Mary G. (David) O'Neal of Oak Harbor; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Lucille (Richard) Smith of Port Clinton and Elva (Clifford, deceased) Herbert of Oak Harbor; brother-in-law, Herman (Lois) Kohlman; and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Jack) Watkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Irene (Albert) Susor; an infant sister; brothers-in-law, Henry (Eleanor), Elmer, and Emery (Katy) Kohlman; sisters-in-law, Sophia (Harold) Zibbel, Alice (Walter) Miller, Clara (Earl) Parman and May Schimming.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Gertrude may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Endowment Trust Fund, or to the donor's charity of choice.
