Margaret Lillian Fox, 74, of Huron, went home to be with the Lord late Thursday morning, May 3, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a brief illness.
She was born July 30, 1932, in Sandusky, and retired from Sandusky IGA after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of New Life Church in Sandusky. She loved to read, play piano, sing, garden and build puzzles.
Mrs. Fox is survived by her husband, Charles R. Fox, whom she married Sept. 24, 1949; daughters, Diana (Doug) Thompson of Sandusky and Linda Fox of Huron; sons, Chuck (Kim) Fox of Vermilion and Chad (Missy) Fox of Punta Gorda, Fla., nine grandchildren, Shawn Thompson, Jill Weiland, DeAnna Fox, Charlie and Katie Fox, Cory and Kaylee Fox, and Jordan and Haley Fox, and three great-grandchildren, Adrienne, Taylor and Nathan Thompson; her sister, Myrtle Basilone of Mansfield; her brother, Chris (Lois) Petersen of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Fox, in 1987; her parents, Christ and Helen (Bridges) Petersen; her sister, Mary Barnum; and brothers, Al Stamm and Charles and Franklin Petersen.
Friends will be received 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Monday until services at 11 a.m. in New Life Church, 6511 Milan Road, Sandusky. Pastor John C. Adams will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
