Kenneth Mills, 65, of Fremont, passed away Wednesday morning, in Countryside Continuing Care Center.
He was born in Fremont to Harry O. and Eva L. (Eberhard) Mills. He was a 1960 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a 1972 graduate of Radio Electronic Technical School in Toledo, where he earned a degree in Industrial Electronics. On Oct. 8, 1960, he married Patricia "Patty" C. Reedy at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monroe, Mich. Kenny was a Class A tool and die maker for 35 years, retiring in 1997, from Eveready Battery Corp. He also worked at Port Clinton Manufacturing and Fremont Shoe Clinic. Kenny, a talented repairman, was proficient in the trades of electricity, plumbing, carpentry and mechanics. He enjoyed using computers, traveling along with Patty throughout the United States, repairing things, fishing and sail boating with his family. Kenny loved to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by wife, Patricia "Patty" Mills of Fremont; daughter, Deanna K. (Chris) Bitner of Jackson, Mich.; son, Dr. Daniel K. (Beth) Mills of Fenton, Mich.; grandchildren, Thomas W. and Stephanie M. Silvers, both of Orlando, Fla.; Kyle C. Bitner of Jackson, Mich.; and step-grandchildren, Clarence, Richard, Zec and Danielle Smith; brothers, Gene (Nancy) Mills of Fremont; William (Susan) Mills of Vermillion; aunts, Edith "Sally" Mills of Fremont and Vera Eberhard of Clyde; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until services at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church in Fremont. Pastor Robert Quillen will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
