James Robert Ginty, 82, of Ashland, Ohio, died Friday, April 27, 2007, in Samaritan Regional Health System.
He was born Sept. 12, 1924, in Lorain, the son of John and Beatrice (Tolan) Ginty. Bob was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lorain, a 1948 graduate of The Ohio State University and a 1950 graduate of Western Reserve School of Law. He was a CPA for Frank, Seringer and Chaney for many years at their Ashland office. After leaving the firm, he opened a law office in Ashland until his retirement.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. He was also a member of the National American Legion, Ashland Elks, Rotary International of Ashland, Knights of Columbus, Norwalk Council 626, the Democratic Party of Ashland County and had been director for 1st National Bank of Ashland/National City for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Grace Ginty; son, John Ginty of Ashland; daughter, Barbara Williamson; stepsons, Robert (Mary) Hanna of Phoenix and James (Janet) Hanna of Danville, Calif.; stepdaughter, Barbara (James) Klyczek of St. Charles, Ill.; five grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, John Gerald Ginty of Sandusky and Richard Ginty of Ashland; and sister, Patricia Joan Siddall of West Salem, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Ginty, in 1994; his parents; and a sister, Sister Mary Ellen Ginty, in 2003.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fickes Funeral Home, Jeromesville, Ohio, where the Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Ashland. The Rev. James Cassidy will officiate. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery
