Byde D. Haycox, 82, of Sandusky, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, in Lorain Specialty Hospital, Lorain.
Byde was born May 22, 1924, in Tennessee, to Gus Iman and Opal (Gafford) Harris. On Oct. 16, 1941, in Marion, Ohio, she married Carl "Casey" Haycox Sr. and he preceded her in death April 1, 2005. Byde worked as a fork lift driver for Standard Products for 30 years until her retirement. She was a good cook, mechanic and carpenter. She loved gardening especially growing her tomato plants. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Byde will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Carl (Ginger) Haycox Jr.; grandchildren, Dana (Michelle) Haycox and Daniel (Doris) Haycox; great-grandchildren, Khyrah, Ariana, Benjamin, Daniel Ross Jr. "DJ", Olivia, Alyssa and Noah; sister, Dotty Jividen; and many nieces and nephews.
Byde was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant great-granddaughter, Haley Jo Haycox; sisters, Betty Heyman and Mildred Brown; and niece, Starling Owe ns.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be at 3 p.m. The Rev. Clint Hayslett will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
Memorial contributions in Byde's memory may be given to St. Jude's.
