Edward M. Ortner, 76, of Sandusky, died Saturday morning, April 28, 2007, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Sandusky, and retired from General Motors in 1993 after 26 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and 27-year member of AA.
Mr. Ortner is survived by his wife of 32-years, Sue (Samples) Ortner, whom he married March 8, 1975; four daughters, Susan (Steve) Hodge of Cleveland, Linda (Ted) Morrow of Amherst, Ohio, Sylvia (Richard) Weyer of Castalia and Beth Ann Hicks of Shelby, Ohio; two sons, Mark and Patrick Ortner of Sandusky; three stepdaughters, Tina (James) Kubitz of Vickery, Kathy Pridemore of California, and Robin (Charles) Manus of Attica; two stepsons, David and Keith Pridemore, both of Sandusky; 2 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Phyllis Howard and Marilyn Walton, both of Sandusky; and a brother, Lynn Harriman of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank B. and Anna Marie (Foltz) Ortner; a grandson, Shawn Stamm; and three brothers, Don, James, and Jerry Ortner.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m., Wednesday at the Master's Hand Church of God, 7410 Magill Road, Castalia, with the Rev. Ben Patrick officiating.
