Robert F. Lang Sr., 83, of New London and formerly of Sandusky, went home to be with the lord, surrounded by his family, Friday morning, April 27, 2007, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
He was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Sandusky, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in World War II. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for 28 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of New London Alliance Church and the National Association of Mail Carriers. Robert enjoyed bowling, softball and square dancing with the Bells & Bows.
He is survived by his daughter, Peg (Jeff) Streng of Sandusky; sons, Jeff (Jen) Lang of Norwalk, Douglas (Stephanie) Lang of New London, and Robert F. (Tere) Lang Jr. of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Lang of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn J. Lang on May 17, 2002; father, Alfonse Lang; mother, Frances (Frey) Jones; stepfather, Gerald Jones; a sister in infancy; and nephew, David Lang.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. Tuesday until services at 11 a.m. in New London Alliance Church, 4625 Ohio 162 W., New London. His son, The Rev. Douglas Lang, will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
