Elwood V. "Woody" Miller, 84, of Bellevue, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, in Bellevue Hospital.

Mr. Miller was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Chatfield, Ohio, to Clarence and Gladys (Heter) Miller, now deceased. He graduated from York High School in 1940 and was a World War II Coast Guard Veteran. Woody was a member of Bellevue Elks, Bellevue Eagles, Bellevue VFW and Bellevue American Legion, Bellevue Moose; and the AMVETS in Sandusky. He was retired from N&W Railroad as a clerk, and had previously worked at Philco and was the TV repairman.

Survivors include two sons, Jan (Lois) TerVeen of Bellevue; Glenn E. (Melinda) Miller of Chesterfield, Va.; and a daughter, Theresa (David) Gebhart of Newark, Ohio; stepchildren, Cassie Jewel of Port Charlotte, Fla.; Pamela Wilkinson of Reynoldsburg; Michael (Terri) Black of Bellevue; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and eight step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. His faithful and caring companion, Betty Barnard of Bellevue also survives; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Miller of Bellevue.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Miller; half sister, Marjorie Bloom Webster; and a stepson, Ronald Lippert.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday in Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue, where The Bellevue Elks will have a memorial service. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Stephen "Wally" Seibel will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the Bellevue VFW and American Legion.
