Judith A. "Judy" Avery, of Clyde, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
Mrs. Avery was born April 6, 1940, in Sandusky, to Lee and Helen (Miller) Schoewe, now deceased. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1958. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, where she was secretary of the Church Council, and a member of the Eastern Star. Judy loved to entertain family with her delicious cooking and truly enjoyed her job. She worked for Clyde-Green Springs Schools for 331/2 years. For 31 of those years she was administrative assistant to the school's superintendent, having worked for four superintendents.
Judy is survived by her husband, James. F. Avery, whom she married April 30, 1960; a daughter, Lisa (Stephen) Sanders of Bealeton, Va.; two sons, Greg J. Avery of Clyde and James C. (Debb) Avery of Indianapolis; and three grandsons, Garrett, Rafe and Dalen Sanders.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jane Schoewe; a brother, Richard Schoewe; and a sister, Joyce Schoewe.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday in Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forest Street, Clyde, with The Rev. Gerry Gosnell officiating. Burial will be in Strongs Ridge Cemetery.
