Leo A. Fisher, 87, of Clyde, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Hospital, Sandusky.
Mr. Fisher was born March 7, 1920, in Sandusky County, to Albert and Frances (Darr) Fisher, now deceased. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Fremont, in 1938, and was a self-employed farmer. Leo was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, the Knights of Columbus, the Townsend Ruritan, and the Bellevue Eagles. On June 7, 1947, he married the former Marie Beier and she survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Jane (Timothy) Smith of Sandusky, Janet Celek (Tom Haslinger) of Fremont and Theresa Quick of Fremont; three sons, Gary (Lori) Fisher of Clyde, Steven (Mary Ellen) Fisher of North Olmsted, and Mark Fisher of Clyde; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Sister Luella Marie SND of Toledo, Viola Mehling of Fremont, Bernice (Art) Haubert of Fremont, Helen Arnold of Fremont, and Irene (Donald) Ott of Green Springs.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Dumminger; and a brother, Clayton Fisher.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday in Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where Christian Wake services will be 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, with The Rev. Dennis Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
