William "Bill" J. Tom, 90, formerly of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born July 4, 1916, in Bellevue, the son of Alexander and Marie (Zoratti) Tom, now deceased. He was the long time owner of Tom Real Estate in Bellevue, a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue Eagles Aerie 490, Bellevue Elks Lodge 1013 and Bellevue Knights of Columbus. Bill enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing, and was known as "the old smoothie."
Survivors include his daughter, Jacquie Clark of Sandusky; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Edith Beckman of Republic.
In addition to his parents; his wife, Ida Mae (DeVanna) Tom, whom he married June 29, 1940, in St. Mary's Church in Clyde; and his daughter, Cheryl R. Rench, preceded him in death.
A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue.The Rev. Keith Stripe will officiate. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
