Glenn V. Schoewe, 83, of Perkins Twp., died peacefully surrounded by his family, Wednesday evening, April 11, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born July 6, 1923, in Castalia. He was employed by Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky for 23 years; and he owned and operated Schoewe Sohio service station, with his brother, Donald. Glenn was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna (Spencer) Schoewe; daughters, Sharon (Bruce) Croteau and Jane (Bert) Dwelle, both of Sandusky; sons, David Schoewe of Tampa, Fla., and Jeff (Geri) Schoewe of Sandusky; grandchildren, Brian, Beth, Andy, Abby, Becky, Logan and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Katy, Emile and Xander; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Anna (Pooch) Schoewe; a sister, Frances Winkle; and brothers, Donald Schoewe and Calvin Schoewe; and daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Herman) Schoewe.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Calling hours will continue from 10 a.m. Saturday until services at 11:15 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
