Leona P. "Flip" Zeigler, 80, of Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 11, 2007, in her home, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 15, 1926, in Willard. She was a 1944 graduate of Willard High School. Mrs. Zeigler was a homemaker, but had worked as a cook at Ohio Edison Men's Club for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ed, throughout the years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 83, where she was involved in the scholarship program for several years, and the Sandusky Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Aerie 444.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward E. Zeigler of Sandusky; son, Edward A. (Mary Ann) Zeigler of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Kevin (Adia) Zeigler of Huron and Jenny Zeigler of Sandusky; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nathan Zeigler; three brothers, Jim Carpenter, Paul (Alice) Carpenter and Jerry (Jane) Carpenter, all of Willard; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolla E. and Martha R. (Schultz) Carpenter; daughter, Trudy Lippus in 1968; sister, Evelyn Johnson; three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Gene Carpenter.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion will hold services at 3:30 p.m., and where services will be 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. R. Bruce Morrison will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
