Katherine “Katie” Miller, 82, 120 Hamilton St., Bellevue, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007, after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 3, 1925, in Floyd County, Ky., the daughter of Jacob and Maudie Martin, now deceased. Katie retired from Amseden Miller House Restaurant in 1984, where she worked as a waitress for 40 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she served the Lord. Her love was her husband, her five children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed quilting and traveling and camping.
Survivors include sons, Richard (Rita) Miller of Ft. Lupton, Colo., and Ronald (Ruth) Miller of Bellevue;daughters,Susan(Ernest) Rollyson and Wanda (Oscar) Bannister, all of Bellevue, and Melody (Tim) Stiltner of Clyde; 13 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years,RalphC.Miller, whom she married March 25, 1944, in Tiffin; sisters, Marie Paul, Lilian Cecil, Vernice Hall and Bessie Cecil; halfsister, Novie Collins; brothers, Edward, Arthur, Paris and Rufus Martin; halfbrother, Daniel Martin .
Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. today in Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 428 Kilbourne St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
