Dolores L. "Doozie" Fletcher, 89, of Portland House, Sandusky, and formerly of 1127 Milan Road, Sandusky, died Friday evening, April 6, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Sandusky, and was a 1935 graduate of Sandusky High School. Dolores was employed as a switchboard operator at the former Good Samaritan Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1983. Prior to this, she was a supervisor and instructor at the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Sandusky, the American Legion Auxiliary, Sandusky Alumni Association, the former Singara Caldron 60, and the former IAB Club.
She is survived by three sons, James L. (Amy) Fletcher of Rittman, Ohio, Dennis C. (Jan) Fletcher of Sandusky and Thomas R. (Gayle) Fletcher of Strongsville, Ohio; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and her special friend, George "Jim" Hehl of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Fletcher in 1984; and her parents, Gordon and Lenora (Deinzer) Osgood.
Her family will receive friends 10 a.m. Tuesday until services at 11 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 315 Wayne St., Sandusky. The Rev. Ernest G. Matijasic will officiate. Inurnment will folow in the Grace Episcopal Columbarium. Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
